About Me
Deaf since birth, I communicate through American Sign Language
and written English. I am a native of Port Huron, Michigan and
attended school there from kindergarten to the tenth grade.
For my junior and senior years of high school, I went to a
high school in Washington, DC called Model Secondary School
for the Deaf which is open to Deaf students from all over the
country. I made a lot of new friends there and got to see all
the richness of history and cosmopolitan life that Washington,
DC has to offer.
I am a 1999
graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY
with a Bachelor's degree in Finance. After an array of
business experiences including working at a failed software
startup and trying my hand at Internet marketing, I joined
Port Huron-based CF
Bancorp in late 2004. I spent over five years there and worked
in a variety of areas including Marketing and Lending
Operations and Retail Banking. CF Bancorp was shut down by the
FDIC in April 2010 and its assets were acquired by Talmer Bank and
Trust (then called First Michigan Bank). Shortly after that, I joined the
Talmer team and am currently working in its Wealth Management
department.
In my spare
time, I enjoy watching boats go by and going to the beach
(Port Huron is on the mouth of Lake Huron), watching movies,
following Detroit pro and University of Michigan sports teams, and surfing TrekEarth to
see the whole wide world right at my fingertips.
